The Yamuna river is flowing over the danger mark in the national capital, an official said Tuesday.
“By 9 a.m. today (Tuesday), the water level in Yamuna had reached 204.98 metres. The danger mark is 204.83 metres. We are keeping a close eye on the level of the river,” an official from irrigation and flood department said.
The official said about 8.06 lakh cusecs of water from Haryana was released Monday at the Hathnikund barrage and an additional 3.38 cusecs of water was released Tuesday morning. The Delhi government Monday began evacuating people from low-lying areas along the banks of the Yamuna.
